Expat Life in Ireland // Month #2 recap and photos
Last Tuesday officially marked the end of Month #2 of my life as an expat in Dublin, Ireland!
Month #2 of expat life saw warmer weather, more new friends, some great nights out, amazing scenery, and various day trips, weekend trips, and random adventures!
After a really hectic Month #1 trying to find jobs/apartments/friends/etc, this month we were all settled in with a steady income so we got to have more fun!
We visited Galway, went on an amazing hike, had some visitors from back home, went to a music festival, and overall became more acquainted with Dublin and had an amazing time!
Here are some things I love about living in Dublin:
1. I love how people really, REALLY appreciate when the weather is nice. Everyone takes advantage of it and spends their day soaking in the sun. Since it’s been getting warmer, we’ll walk over to St. Stephan’s Green to eat and relax. The green is always PACKED with children and adults alike on a beautiful day.
2. I love how it really doesn’t take long to get anywhere in the country. We took a bus to Galway, which is all the way on the other side of the country, and it only took 2.5 hours!
3. I love being the one with the accent. People always ask what I’m doing here, how long I’m staying, if I’m studying. They want to know my story! I also find that I’m getting so used to the Irish accent that when I here an American accent, it sounds weird. Like, I’m starting to really how nasal-y and annoying the American accent is!
4. I love living in a city. There’s always something fun to do and something going on! (Plus, there’s lots of free activities!)
5. I love meeting tourists from all over the world at my job.
