When Travel Meets Graphic Design

So for those of you who don’t know, I’m a Graphic Designer. I graduated from LSU with a graphic design degree, and currently work in Baton Rouge in a communications firm. When I was in school, I would always seize the opportunity to mix my love of graphic design with my love of traveling. Of course, the projects assigned to us didn’t always allow that…

Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse: Fancy a Pint?

Dublin is one of my favorite cities I’ve ever visited. Maybe it isn’t the most picturesque, and maybe the weather can be a bit of a downer for people who don’t like cold weather, but I absolutely adore it. The people are so friendly and it’s always so much fun. One of the top things to do in Dublin is the Guinness Storehouse, a tour through the brewing process of Guinness beer. AKA the sweet nectar of the Irish Gods. The Storehouse is located right in the heart of St. James’s Gate Brewery, in the center of Dublin. I had a great experience Guinness Storehouse and think it’s is definitely worth visiting

Here’s a review, recap, and what to expect from the Guinness Storehouse tour!

My Top 5 US Destinations

The Top 5 Cities on my US “MUST VISIT” List

My Top 5 US Destinations

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m obsessed with travel. I mean, obviously, I have a blog dedicated to it. I specifically love traveling around Europe – there’s just something about the culture, the cities, and the lifestyle that I just absolutely adore. Although I’ve been on my fair share of trips through Europe, I also think I’ve visited my fair share of great destinations here in the good ol’ US of A. I have a never-ending list of “places I must go to before I die” (don’t we all) around the world, but my list of cities here in the states keeps growing as well! So I’ve tried to narrow down my top 5 US cities that I want to visit!

A Day in the French Quarter

Saturday NOLAday: A Day in the French Quarter

A Day in the French Quarter

Before being fortunate enough to see the Ben Howard concert in the Civic Theatre in New Orleans on Saturday night, I got to spend the day roaming the French Quarter with my friends.

Most of the times when I go to New Orleans, I end up spending time/staying uptown. I absolutely love uptown because its so picturesque and a lot less busy than downtown and the Quarter. But, sometimes it’s nice to wander around the French Quarter and see all the “touristy” stuff. What’s even BETTER is seeing all the touristy stuff on a beautiful day. Which is exactly what happened on the lovely Saturday I found myself wandering the Quarter.

Bike ride through Hyde Park

Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens

Its currently soooo cold here right now in South Louisiana. I know, CRAZY right?! And although I love it, I can’t help but daydream to the times I spent wandering aimlessly around one of my favorite areas of London – Hyde Park – on an absolutely BEAUTIFUL summer day. Taking a bike ride through Hyde Park allows you to explore more of the park than by foot. It’s such a fun and cheap thing to do in London (because let’s face it, London can be PRICEY)!

Island of Anglesey, Wales

Welsh rainy days are the best rainy days

Island of Anglesey, Wales

I absolutely love cold and rainy weather. Let me repeat that: I absolutely LOVE cold and rainy weather. I know when asked about their favorite weather, most people would start talking about a sunny day on the beach. And don’t get me wrong… I do love annual trips to the beach. BUT there’s just something special to me about a chilly, overcast day. Which I think is one of the (many) reasons why I love traveling in the UK so much!

Enter my perfect little rainy day pit-stop on the Island of Anglesey in Wales.

The Harry Potter World Premiere

Harry Potter World Premiere

It’s appropriate that it’s Thursday because today we’re throwing it wayyyyy back. To the summer of 2011. I was studying in Austria and decided that I wanted to go to the world premiere of the last Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, in London. And once I decided, there was no going back.

Not only did I fly from Austria and London specifically for the Harry Potter world premiere, but I was also able to finagle myself into the 2nd row and had the BEST day of my life.

This is a long story but boy is it a pretty epic one.

Paris from Above

When I told people I was visiting Paris, or when I looked up things to do in Paris, one of the things I was told I “had to do” or “couldn’t miss” was to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower to see a great view of Paris.

Well, upon further research, I found that many people say that the views from the towers of the Notre Dame Cathedral were actually a lot better than the views from the Eiffel Tower, because you got to see the gargoyles and spires of the church up close. Plus, that the lines were shorter and the climb up to the top wasn’t such a bitch (excuse my French).
