Bray, Ireland: The Perfect stretch of Irish Seaside for a Day Trip from Dublin
If you’re looking for an easy day trip from Dublin, ESPECIALLY on a sunny day, look no further than Bray! The scenic town is only 45 minutes by train from the heart of Dublin. It boasts a stunning beach, a great coastal walk, and lots of bars and restaurants. It’s no wonder Bray calls itself the “Gateway to the Garden of Ireland”
My favorite part of my recent trip to Dublin was actually my day trip to Bray. The weather was wonderful outside. The seaside was packed with families, couples, and dogs enjoying the day. After stopping for some ice cream, my friends and I wandered off into the hillside and ended up stumbling upon rocky enclaves and hidden caves and beaches. It was the perfect Irish afternoon filled with caves, cliffs, and coastlines in this beautiful town. I also couldn’t believe it was so close to the hustle and bustle of Dublin city!
So during your next visit to Dublin, make it a point to visit Bray! It’s a really fun day out and a great thing to do while in Dublin, especially if you’re looking to get out of the city and see more of the coast! It has a busy town centre with lots of shops and restaurants. The beachfront promenade has tons of seaside resorts, bars, and activities. It’s also super easy to get to. It’s a direct 45-minute south-bound train from Dublin and there are lots of trains every day. Just check the Irish Rail Website to see the daily timetables.
Some Bray Recommendations:
- The Harbour Bar for a nice pint outside, and even some fish and chips
- For a sit down meal, check out Daata or Platform Pizza. Both are DELICIOUS!
