Longitude Festival 2015: A Day in Review
OK, so I PROMISE this will be the last music festival post for a while. I know I’ve been posting a lot of music festivals lately, but it is festival season after all! But for those of you who would rather my travel posts, do not fear! I will be back to my regularly scheduled, absolutely awesome, and incredible witty travel posts soon enough!
But for now, I’m going to talk about and review my day at Longitude Festival 2015!
We recently had a friend from the US come to visit us in Dublin. Even though we had an absolute blast, we spent SO much money! She had never been to Dublin before, so we did lots of touristy things like visit the Jameson distillery, the Dublin Zoo, and Temple Bar.
One highlight from her time here, though, was when we went to Longitude Festival on Friday. It was in Marlay Park, about a 20 minute bus ride out of Dublin’s city centre.
We had a frickin’ ball!
The weather was a bit all over the place (typical Ireland). It was rainy when we got there. Then sunny. After that, sunny but chilly and rainy. Then dark and dreary. Then, back to sunny but this time hot. Then hot but raining. And this was all in the matter of a few hours! But even so, the lively atmosphere and the great lineup made for a fun afternoon!
The highlights of our day were Young Fathers, Little Dragon, The Vaccines, and HOZIER. He was absolutely incredible! Even cooler than seeing Hozier live was the fact that he IS Irish, so the energy in the crowd was electric. You could tell he was just as excited to be home as everyone else was to have him home! I will never forget the joy and excitement from his set.
So overall, Longitude Festival 2015 was a success! This was my 2nd music festival in Ireland and just like Body & Soul 2015, my review of Longitude Festival is that it did not disappoint!
